Terms of Use
Berkeley Trash Day is a small, independent community project—not a City service. By using the site, submitting a report, or downloading a reminder, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not rely on or use the service.
Information only
Trash, recycling, and compost results are based on anonymous community reports. Street-sweeping information is transcribed from City publications. Any result may be incomplete, inaccurate, delayed, outdated, or matched to the wrong location or curb side. Calendar files are reminders, not official notices.
You must verify schedules
You are responsible for confirming collection days with Berkeley Zero Waste and for reading and following all signs where you park. Posted parking signs control even when this site or a downloaded reminder says something different. The City may change schedules for holidays, emergencies, construction, or other reasons.
For collection information, call Berkeley Zero Waste at (510) 981-7270. For parking restrictions, use the City's street-parking guidance and check the signs at the vehicle.
No warranty
The service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of accuracy, completeness, timeliness, availability, fitness for a particular purpose, or noninfringement. The project does not promise that reports are independent, truthful, or representative.
Assumption of risk and limitation of liability
You assume the risk of using or relying on the service. To the fullest extent permitted by law, the project maintainer and contributors will not be liable for parking tickets, citations, towing or storage charges, missed collections, replacement service, fines, penalties, property loss, or other damages arising from use of—or reliance on—the site, its community reports, source-data matching, or calendar reminders.
These terms do not exclude liability or waive a right that cannot lawfully be excluded or waived. Some jurisdictions may not permit certain warranty exclusions or liability limitations, so portions of this section may not apply to you.
Community reports
Submit only a day that you observed or reasonably confirmed for the selected street range. Do not submit fabricated data, personal information, malicious content, or automated reports. Reports may be removed, ignored, or rate-limited to protect the project and its users.
Service and terms may change
The project may correct data, change methodology, remove reports, suspend features, or stop operating without notice. Updated terms will show a new effective date. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms.
Questions
This public project is maintained through GitHub. These terms are general project safeguards, not legal advice; a qualified attorney should review them for the maintainer's particular circumstances.
